land acknowledgment
i would like to use this platform to acknowledge the lands i have lived in or visited frequently throughout my life. these lands were already occupied by their original peoples before being subjugated first by the spanish/europeans, next by the mexican empire (applies only to southwestern united states), and finally by the american government.
we are, and will continue to exist, on occupied native lands.
*note: these selected images are to give you an idea of what my aesthetic looks like. not all work is included. for an in depth look at individual sculptures and installations, the ideas and inspiration behind them, please visit my tumblr blog (link down below). thank you.

¿quién soy?
about me + my work
all my life i have been inspired by landscapes and family roadtrips around both southern california and southern méxico (we moved around a bit when my siblings and i were little niñxs). i enjoy collecting stuff (that i can later use in my work) and hanging out in thrift shops, art + nature museums, outdoors in natural landscapes, coffee shops and old libraries! i love the attachments i develop with different lands, places and experiences.
currently, my work continues to revolve around ideas of nostalgia associated with a variety of locations, cultural influences, societal norms, different communities and in the landscapes these individual elements continue to expand. my perspectives continue to transform as the arrow of time pushes forward filling with it the chapters of my story.
for a couple of years now, i have been trying a shift in my work to include more found objects, reused + recycled materials, to promote sustainability + my ability to refrain from purchasing anything just for the purpose of making my art. i'm not always successful but i try.
my work has been shown nationally in places such as the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California, at Fountain Art Fair in Miami Beach, Florida, at Birdsong Nature Center in Thomasville, Georgia, at Baltimore Clayworks in Baltimore, Maryland, in La Plaza de la Raza in Los Angeles, California, and at Cocina de Humo Gallery in the state of Puebla, México.
